Expectant parents and new families have trusted me to prepare them for the transformative birth realm for almost a decade. In that time, I’ve been blessed to attend more than 300 births throughout Bay area homes, birth centers, and hospitals.
If you’re looking for a grounded, calm presence to support you, I’m here to accompany you through the phases of your pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. I’ll provide evidence-based support techniques and heart-centered approaches to coping with the unexpected. I want nothing more than you feeling inspired to birth your way, with trust and love for your body and baby. I work closely with my clients to explore their birth preferences and available resources. For those on the fence about hiring a doula for labor support, I also offer consultation services for individuals and couples interested in guidance throughout pregnancy & postpartum. Topics could include: prenatal nutrition, creating a birth plan, advocacy and making informed decisions, understanding interventions and induction methods, review of comfort measures and coping techniques and postpartum preparation and planning to name a few.
At this time, Lenore supports births at Alta Bates, Kaiser San Leandro, Pacifica Maternity Center and births at home. Schedule a complimentary phone consultation to learn more.
Lenore offers birth doula services, private Birthing From Within childbirth classes and lactation education & support.
Maureen Layag
Birth & Postpartum Doula
Maureen is a mom of three who found the birth of her first child unexpectedly profound. The years following this birth and the subsequent births of her other children, Maureen found herself counseling and advising many of her friends and family members regarding their birth options and how to accomplish their own desires for an empowered birth. In 2012, Maureen decided it was time to leave her corporate job and to transition into her life's passion of supporting, encouraging and nurturing women and their families through labor and birth. Maureen is DONA trained, has taken several types of birthing classes (The Bradley Method, Hypnobirthing, Loving Arms, Natural Resources) and lactation training classes. In 2015, Maureen added postpartum services to her practice after seeing many of her clients struggling to find their rhythm at home. Maureen will be a forever student of prenatal, birth and postpartum learnings and will continue to bring these learnings to her families that she is supporting. Maureen's peaceful demeanor and genuine care provide families with a strong base and level of support that is heartfelt.
Maureen offers birth and postpartum doula services.

Jessica's travels with massage led her to learn about midwifery - the birthing of babies. She found her skills most useful in becoming a doula - a birthing assistant. The meaning of the word 'doula' is to be with woman. A proud phase/word, which holds a strength that reaches and touches lives, families and impacts the memories and souls of all those involved. She is so honored to call herself a doula. The presence and responsibility that she upholds is one of honor and respect. The compassion that is extended in being in a labor support person is one that never stops learning and growing with each birth and story. Doulas are the link of knowledge that supports midwives, nurses and medical practitioners, as well as families and pregnant mothers, fathers and child. There is a great amount of responsibility on the care of life especially in these transformational times. By using massage therapy along with conscious bonding skills, the mother is supported and is likely to advance with labor and have a positive birth.
Jessica offers birth doula services and prenatal/postpartum massage therapy.
